Welcome to the MiseHomeSite! Our little family resides in the beautiful state of Tennessee. The banner picture above was taken one early morning back in 2005 from my back deck. This is just one of many of God's beautiful creations.

I wrote a descriptive essay when in college, I never liked english in school, I always loved math. So when I got an 'A' on this paper I was shocked. So I thought I would share it here for your reading pleasure.

An Old Stone House

As a child, I grew up in another state, in a big city. I came to Tennessee about three or four times a year to visit my grandparents. I have always liked Tennessee and have always envisioned myself living in an old stone house, back in the hills. I currently live in Tennessee, but I still imagine the old stone house.
The drive from the road frontage to the house is about a half of a mile. The entire yard is surrounded with a stone fence. Shortly after entering the driveway you notice that trees protect it from the sun’s light, driving through is as if going through a tunnel. As the house comes into view, you notice a well sitting about 30 feet to the right. This reminds you of days gone by, as this was the only source of water for most. You can see that the drive circles in front of the house. In the middle of the drive is a spectacular garden with a small pond in the center of it. Flowers and bushes of all colors highlight it. To one side of the garden is a slight hill, water flows from it over large rocks, which have been polished by the water. The water then crashes into the pond below, like ocean waves smashing against the shore. Bees seem to come from all over the world to sap the flowers of their nectar. The pond is full of wildly swimming goldfish, which tend to stray away from the waterfall.
The house is in plain view of the driveway, except for one side, which is blocked by a large tree, the leaves of which almost hang to the ground. A thick forest of trees runs down both sides of the yard about 20 feet from each side of the house. The house is two stories, made of white stone, and I notice that parts of it are covered with moss. You cannot help but wonder what provokes the moss to crawl up the side of the house. The stone walls must be full of dampness and slightly cool. There is a balcony above the front porch, which has a couple of rocking chairs in bad need of repair. On the front porch, sit some pots containing marigolds and petunias of ravishing reds, blues and gold’s. There is a large wooden front door. The door does not have a window, but there are two narrow windows that run down each side of it. To the left of the front door is a rusty bench. I sit there and admire the garden encircled by the drive.
The backyard is also enclosed by the stone fence. There is an old picnic table sitting slightly to the right. Mother Nature has played her part on one of the benches, for it has found its way to the ground below. There is a wrought iron gate in the center of the stone fence. Opening it reveals a narrow stone path leading down to a lake, which is surrounded by rolling hills and wildlife of all types. I notice a deer drinking the crystal clear water.
Looking over the lake, I realize that I have found a perfect place to live. Although it is only in my mind, the image is so realistic. I envision it as though I were standing there, standing there somewhere in Tennessee.

In remembrance of my late Grandmother (Gran)! I am so glad that I bought this table at her estate sale. I restored it and would not take anything for it now. Me, her and Grandpa ate many meals off this table.
